Who can play

The quiniela is open to every Tangering employee. Each employee can bring up to 2 additional players from family and friends.

Picks lock 5 minutes before kickoff

You can create or edit a pick while the match is open. Five minutes before kickoff, that match locks automatically and changes are rejected by the database.

Times show in your local timezone

Kickoffs are stored as absolute timestamps. The app displays them in each viewer's browser timezone, so people in Mexico, Colombia, the US, Argentina, and Uruguay see the same deadline translated locally.

Scores must be realistic whole numbers

Every prediction must use whole numbers from 0 to 30. Blank, decimal, negative, or huge scores cannot be saved.

Locked picks become visible

After a match locks, everyone can see the submitted picks for that match. Before the deadline, only your own pick is visible.

Results are official once entered

The leaderboard updates from the match result entered in Supabase. Penalty shootout goals do not count unless the organizer explicitly enters them as the official score.

Knockout note

For knockout matches, the quiniela scores whatever final score the organizer enters in the database. To avoid arguments, decide before the knockout round whether that means 90 minutes only or after extra time. Penalty shootout goals should stay out of the score.
